MFS DX is an independent consultancy providing a comprehensive portfolio of Digital Transformation (DX) services to the construction industry.

MFS DX helps clients understand the potential of digitalization and implement of digital transformation processes. We provide strategic consulting in the field of BIM and building information modelling and are a partner in the integration of digital tools and information systems. We perform process analyses covering all project phases, based on which we can set up the right concept for the design of buildings, including their construction and subsequent asset management. Our domain of activity is change management during the digital transformation of organisations working with real estate assets.

Digital Transformation in the construction industry is a process closely linked to Industry 4.0 and Construction 4.0 initiatives, which leads to higher efficiency and reliability of processes through optimal use of modern approaches and technologies. Building Information Model, BIM

is a key part of digital transformation in construction industry. This comprehensive method, based on graphical and non-graphical information contained in information models, enables effective team collaboration and communication at all stages of a project. In this way, the entire process of construction preparation and implementation can be properly managed to avoid potential problems. MFS DX offers clients in the public and private sectors BIM consultancy support leading to the transformation of organisations and projects management in an optimal manner to improve the efficiency and quality of their implementation. We develop BIM strategies including the necessary supporting process analyses. We prepare key documents for our Clients such as Exchange Information Requirements (EIR), BIM Execution Plans (BEP), BIM Protocols and others. We strengthen team competencies on the client side so that they can manage their projects properly and develop digitally. Within the projects we normally act as Information Manager, BIM Coordinator or BIM Manager. These roles are typically required by developers, architectural and design studios, main contractors or building managers depending on project objectives and phases.

Common Data Environment, CDE

MFS DX assists with the selection of a common data environment (CDE) which are based on project specifics and individual client needs. Our expertise covers all available CDEs within local and foreign markets. Our services include initial analysis, tender support, implementation and management of the common data environment.

BIM Strategy

BIM Strategy is the definition of the individual steps leading to BIM maturity within an organisation. Our activities typically begin with a review of current work processes. This is followed by an analysis of human resources, software and hardware concluding with a definition of the client’s BIM goals which focusses on their core business. This definition contains the BIM implementation specifics and a plan of activities leading to the successful achievement of the identified goals. This takes the form of a BIM strategy document that serves as a guide in the implementation process itself – BIM transformation.

BIM Transformation

On the basis of the developed BIM strategy, we help the client to realize all the defined goals. We provide consultancy support in the implementation of the set activities or directly participate in the change management within the organization in the role of BIM manager. The transformation process is always carried out with the support of the top management of the organization that has decided to start the digital transformation. We partner with our clients to successfully manage digital change.

BIM Documents and Templates

MFS DX creates specifications for BIM projects for our clients to ensure future compatibility with the client’s workflows, processes and requirements. These documents include EIRs – the client’s information/data requirements, BEP – BIM Executive Plan including definition of data standard and processes related to information transfer using CDE, BIM Protocol – contractual and legal context of BIM and other legal documents of the organization, etc.

BIM Management – oversight on the customer side

MFS DX normally covers the role of BIM coordinator / BIM manager by outsourcing the customer side thus enabling our clients to build and develop their own in-house teams and benefit from the know-how and synergies. The MFS DX team ensures that data management is done correctly and that the information models are fully aligned with the client’s requirements and objectives.

Digital Twin & Digital Passport

A digital twin is a virtual digital representation of an actual or future immovable asset, enabling the integration of individual data sources and therefore an efficient way of working with this data from an asset management perspective. The aim is to deal with predictive maintenance, i.e. to be able to plan maintenance efficiently and thus prevent critical situations. MFS DX helps its clients to make optimal use of BIM data generated during preparation and implementation so that it is of benefit in the asset management phase. Whether the client decides to opt for a comprehensive CAFM solution or just wants to be able to access and read the data, we can find the best solution tailored to the client’s needs.

Digital Passporting

If a client does not have data on existing assets, we will help them specify the optimal way to digitize those assets so that they can use the resulting data according to their needs and not pay unnecessarily for data and services they are unable to use. We have experience in digitizing existing assets in the sense of laser scanning, photogrammetry or even technical asset passporting.

Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR)

Working with Virtual Reality complements our wide range of services and can be used at any stage of a project to understand the building in more depth and more quickly and be able to make the right design decisions. We use VR primarily to improve the preparation and execution of buildings, whether in terms of technical design (complex coordination units, intricate technical details, subjective assessment of space) or material sampling (final finishes, impact of shading techniques on the feeling within the interior environment, …). MFS DX provides services related to the creation of VR models, the provision of VR environments on the client side or a comprehensive service for the provision of VR throughout the entire preparation and execution of buildings. An integral part of the service is the processing of VR models of buildings for marketing purposes.
