MFS assisted Herzog & de Meuron in the design development of the skin on this campus building at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
The composition of elements on this deep cavity twin skin construction include the following: an external skin of vertically spanning low-iron, reflective coated laminated single glass profiles, curved precast concrete maintenance walkways and a factory assembled unitised aluminium curtain walling inner skin. The precast concrete walkways are supported in an integrated factory assembled manner through the unitised inner skin. The complex mix of facade elements leads to a complex design development, specification and procurement process on this challenging project.
This project was completed in 2016.
