The new NOBU Hotel in Shoreditch is the first hotel offering in London of the eponymous restaurant brand.
The cladding comprises of a stick system curtain walling construction of high performance glazing and board marked opaque panelling whilst the dominate feature of this building is the sloped ‘de-constructed’ elevation. This feature which wraps the generous balcony spaces is realised via non-visible, welded-up, Vierendeel steel trusses which cantilever from the end of the building.
The NOBU Restaurant, located on the ground floor, is bounded by a series of super tall centre-pivoting glazed doors which open to provide full access to the courtyard.
This project was completed in 2016.
